Farnborough has a rich history in aviation with its location being where the very first powered flight was made in 1908 by Samuel Cody. It was also home to the historic Royal Aircraft Establishment where Sir Frank Whittle conducted much of his research into jet aircraft.
The world-famous Farnborough International Airshow has been held at the airfield at Farnborough since 1948 and over the decades has showcased many pioneering triumphs in aerospace. In March 2018, Hall 1 opened: a new permanent conference and exhibition facility, offering 20,000 sqm of flexible event space throughout the year.
This facility enables Farnborough International not only famous for delivering airshows but also for hosting world-class events in the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
