British Airways Maintenance Centre, Cardiff

BAMC is a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways, located at the North West edge of Cardiff International Airport. It was officially opened by HRH The Prince Of Wales in June 1993 This huge building is designed to service B474 and B777’s, giving BAMC the capability of taking a mix of B747 and B777 aircraft in its 4 hangar bays and also on 2 Nose-in-Facilities. The Roofline group, working closely with Interserve as facilities managers refurbished the top single ply flat roof of this main hangar with a new single ply warm roof system, supplied by Cefil UK Ltd. The works required a large skilled labour force in order to complete the roof coverings in the summer months on a 15 week window as high winds prevent work to the exposed building at roof level for most of the year. Roofline completed the waterproofing within 12 weeks.
