We are pleased to confirm we have secured the specialist waterproofing for the ground breaking Sutton Secondary School project in Sutton. We are due to install approximately 4000m² of bituminous built up felt waterproofing and green roof finishes.
The project will see the construction of a six form entry school to accommodate 1275 pupils and 95 staff with a central spine building of the four storeys, interposed by alternating wings.
The School is aiming to push environmental sustainability with an ambition to achieve both Passivhaus and BREEAM Excellent certification. Opting for a Passivhaus design will provide staff and pupils with a healthy, optimised learning environment that benefits from the excellent air quality you get with Passivhaus standard buildings as well as meeting the local authority’s requirements to minimise operational carbon. Developed in Germany in the early 1990’s, Passivhaus is the fastest growing energy performance standard in the world and achieving it will substantially enhance the excellent thermal performance.
